Tisser’s vision is to weave a network of weavers and artisans to support the Make in India program of the Indian government and amuse its customers with unique hand made products at the same time.
Collaborating on growth strategy
Early February Women on Wings expert Edwin van den Brand worked with the team of Tisser in Mumbai on quality and compliance standards required to become a global player. Women on Wings and Tisser started collaborating on developing its growth strategy in August 2015. The consultancy session on quality and compliance was the next step after defining the sales strategy earlier this year.

Weaving a connection that generates livelihood for artisans
Tisser (French for ‘to weave’) will strengthen and support its community of artisans, weavers, customers and designers, inspired by India. It will give its customers products that delight them by interpreting India’s rich heritage and traditional knowledge, while protecting the natural environment. It will generate livelihood for its artisans through end to end support. And it will support the girl child education of the families with Tisser through its proceeds.
